The cultural mandate was given by God to Adam and Eve when he said “...fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion....” In the beginning God had determined that mankind was to work and through work his responsible dominion would be extended throughout the earth. Living outside the garden, this call is still upon our lives.
For most of us, this extension of God’s dominion is not through agriculture as it was for Adam and Eve but through education, sales, law, medicine, the marketplace, etc. Schaeffer Fellows will be involved in internships in their particular field of interest where they will have the opportunity to live out their world-view in their vocation.
