Endowed within the USC Schaeffer Institute for Public Policy and Government Service, the Schaeffer Fellows program is poised to amplify its impact and enhance its ability to shape the next generation of civic leaders. In the next decade, the program seeks to bolster the resources and networks key to supporting hard-working Schaeffer Fellows each summer, and further expand opportunities for Fellows and alumni to remain engaged in public service.
Strengthen Alumni Engagement
As our alumni community grows, we will offer additional opportunities for them to remain involved as mentors, supervisors, and speakers. Their contributions will be vital to the program’s success, providing future Fellows with essential support, guidance, and inspiration.
Enhance Professional Development
Advanced training in leadership, career skills, and mentorship will prepare alumni to excel in any sector, fostering a mindset rooted in public service.
Expand Partnerships & Networks
New collaborations with universities, government agencies, and organizations will connect Fellows and alumni to a vibrant network of mentors and public service leaders, offering diverse career pathways and professional growth.
Focus on Evidence-Based Policy Solutions
Partnerships with organizations like the USC Schaeffer Institute, RAND Corporation, and Brookings Institution will immerse Fellows and alumni in data-driven decision-making, equipping them to champion effective, evidence-based solutions.
